The best U.S. states to visit that are known for reported UFO sightings.

A recent report from Casino.ca reveals the U.S. states where people have reported sightings of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), commonly known as UFOs. The data was gathered from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) and social media platforms like X, Facebook, and Instagram.

Casino.ca, a gaming website that covers various topics including entertainment and technology, notes a growing interest in UFOs. A data scientist from the site shared with Fox News Digital that this surge in interest may be linked to advancements in technology, reduced stigma around reporting sightings, and possibly classified aerospace projects.

The Department of Defense launched a reporting site in 2023 to increase transparency regarding government activities related to UFOs. The data scientist pointed out that, while much remains mysterious about UFOs, both governments and scientists are beginning to understand these phenomena and are more willing to share their findings.

Notable sightings include a July incident in Colorado where concert venue employees reported a "disc-shaped craft" hovering before disappearing, and a family in Las Vegas who claimed to have seen a crashed UFO along with 8- to 10-foot tall "greenish" creatures.

According to NUFORC, Louisiana is the least likely state to see a UFO, with only one sighting per 3,815 residents.

Here are the top five states where UFO sightings have been reported:

  1. California: The Golden State tops the list with one UFO sighting for every 1,075 residents, amounting to 36,286 reported sightings since 1974. A data scientist attributed this high number to California’s diverse landscapes, which provide numerous locations for unusual flying objects.

  2. Washington: Ranking second, Washington has one UFO sighting for every 1,093 people, with around 7,125 reported sightings. A recent report from October 6 noted a shiny object in the sky, though it was later determined to be a balloon.

  3. Florida: The Sunshine State has recorded over 11,000 UFO sighting claims since 1974, translating to one sighting for every 1,444 residents. One witness from Destin reported seeing a large orange arrow moving across the sky.

  4. Oregon: With a total of 3,667 reported sightings, Oregon sees one UFO sighting for every 1,156 people. Witnesses have described sightings of "fast-moving tic-tac" objects and "translucent orbs" in the sky.

  5. New York: New York rounds out the top five with 6,405 reported sightings, which equates to one sighting for every 1,301 residents. A recent report from Pltneyville described an oval-shaped object observed during the aurora borealis.
