Don't you think that Greek and Roman gods are tied to an ancient history? Since the very existence of humanity, ancient customs and traditions have been in practice. Even in our modern traditions, we can still see glimpses of the old ones.
The Cholula Pyramid, located about 60 miles from Mexico City, has a base larger than that of the Great Pyramid of Cheops. About 25 miles from Mexico City, the pyramids of Teotihuacan cover an area of nearly 8 miles, with their corners aligned precisely with the positions of stars in the sky. Ancient texts describe this place as a gathering site for gods, where they would discuss humanity—dating back even before the arrival of Homo sapiens.
The Mayan calendar, known as one of the most accurate calendars in the world, is well-documented. A similar system, the Venusian formula, also exists. It has now been proven that many ancient structures—such as Chichen Itza, Tikal, Copan, and Palenque—were built in alignment with the Mayan calendar. The Mayans did not construct pyramids or temples simply because they needed them. Instead, their calendar dictated that every 52 years, these structures required some form of modification—such as adding new steps to staircases. Every stone had a connection to the Mayan calendar, and every building fulfilled an astronomical purpose.
However, around 600 AD, something astonishing happened. In a single night, countless people abandoned their well-built cities, temples, and pyramids, never to return.
Let's go back to ancient Egypt—for thousands of years, people built structures based on their calendars, carved inscriptions into stone, worked on water conservation, and then, suddenly, they abandoned everything and moved north into a barren land. This event, recorded in history, seems completely irrational.
Extensive research suggests that perhaps Mayan civilization was driven away by invaders, but for that to be possible, the attackers would have to be more advanced than the Mayans. Yet, there is no historical evidence of an organized army or powerful invaders during that time. Some believe that environmental changes forced them to migrate, but archaeological evidence does not support this theory either. Additionally, there are no signs of natural disasters, storms, or famines that could explain their sudden departure.
Could there have been a war, where different factions clashed due to ideological differences, leading to the downfall of the Mayan civilization? This theory also falls apart because not a single Mayan was left behind. Astronomers have studied this mystery extensively, yet no one has been able to explain why such a thriving civilization vanished overnight.
It is also said that at some point, gods came among the Maya civilization, or rather, beings from another planet arrived. Many pieces of evidence point in this direction. The Maya people were incredibly intelligent—they had precise knowledge of geography, astronomy, mathematics, and many other subjects. The priests carefully preserved this knowledge because one day, the gods were supposed to return. They created a new religion and named it Kukulkan.
At that time, priests were considered wise, and according to them, once they completed everything as per the Maya calendar—building all the structures and cities—the gods would arrive. This belief motivated people to work diligently, as they believed they would experience great joy when their task was complete. After that, the god Kukulkan was expected to descend to Earth.
The work was completed, and the anticipated year arrived when the gods were supposed to come—but no one came. Nothing happened. The people prayed, sang songs, and celebrated, but there was no arrival. They then thought that perhaps they had misunderstood the calendar, that centuries of effort had been in vain, and that they had made a grave mistake.
We must also consider when the Maya calendar began. For that, we need to go back to 3111 BC—this is the date recorded in the Maya calendar. If we accept it as true, we find that there is only a gap of a few hundred years between this date and the beginning of Egyptian civilization.
In 1935, a stone statue was discovered that closely resembled the god Kukumatz. This statue was found in Palenque. It depicts a human figure with its upper body bent forward, as if riding a motorcycle. If we show this statue to a child today, they might say that the figure is operating a rocket. The machine in the carving has numerous controls, a pedal, and the person depicted is wearing attire consisting of short pants with a wide belt.
According to our understanding, astronauts typically wear helmets, but this figure is not depicted wearing one. The seat also resembles that of an astronaut, with a distinct control panel.
This statue is trying to say something. If someone created it, then it cannot just be a product of imagination—especially thousands of years ago. We often question how we can believe in something we haven’t seen, but this statue clearly indicates that astronauts existed even in ancient times.
There are some questions, like: Why did the Maya people build their homes in the jungle instead of near a river or the sea? Tikal is 109 miles from the Gulf of Honduras, 161 miles from the Bay of Campeche, and 236 miles from the Pacific Ocean. They built their own water sources, even though they could have settled near rivers or the sea.
After all this, the Maya civilization established a new city in the north, and all of this happened according to the dates written in the Maya calendar. To understand the Maya calendar, we need to understand how they measured time:
- 20 kins = 1 uinal (20 days)
- 18 uinals = 1 tun (360 days)
- 20 tuns = 1 katun (7,200 days)
The observatory at Chichen Itza was the first round building constructed in the Maya civilization. Even today, this observatory and many others still exist. These round buildings had three levels, with a spiral staircase inside leading to the topmost observatory. On the top, some figures are carved that point towards the stars in the sky. On the outer walls, there are carvings of rain and images of humans.
The Maya civilization's connection with other civilizations is not the only reason we are curious about them. There are many other questions, such as: How did the Maya civilization know about the planets Uranus and Neptune? Why were the observatory structures in Chichen Itza not aligned with the brightest stars? What is the meaning of the statue found in Palenque that depicts a man operating a rocket? The Maya calendar includes calculations covering 400 million years—what comes after that?
Despite being such an ancient civilization, how did they learn to calculate planetary movements? Should we conclude that the Maya civilization was incredibly intelligent? Because when we look at their work today, it is clear that they were far ahead of their time.
Another strange story that comes to light is about a cursed well in Chichen Itza. Edward Herbert Thompson not only retrieved expensive jewelry from this well but also discovered the skeletons of young people. Diego De Landa mentioned that in ancient times, young boys and girls were thrown into this well to please the god of rain.
Thompson investigated this story and uncovered a terrifying truth behind it, raising even more questions about the well. Questions like—how was the well formed? Was it the only one, or were there more?
There was another well similar to this one, located in the middle of the jungle, just 76 yards from the Maya observatory. Surrounded by wild animals and snakes, this well was identical in length and width to the well at Chichen Itza. Both wells were exactly the same. The depth of the water, the color of the well walls—turning from green to brown—and even their age matched. However, researchers only focused on studying the first well. Both wells were equidistant from a pyramid—exactly 984 yards away. This pyramid belonged to the god Kukulkan, who was also known as the Feathered Serpent.
The serpent was a prominent symbol in all Mayan architectural structures. While flowers played a significant role in their culture, serpents were also an integral part of their lives. Those serpents have now turned to dust, but some questions remain—why did they worship the serpent? And why specifically a flying serpent?
The god Kukulkan was similar to another deity, Quetzalcoatl, as mentioned in Mayan scriptures. However, the reason for their mention remains unknown.
It is said that he came from another land, wore a white robe, and had a bearded face. He taught people science and other knowledge, as well as several rules for living. After a long time, once his work was done, he went towards the sea, where his ship was waiting. He boarded the ship and ascended into the sky.
We can all speculate who this person might have been. During that era, no men had beards. Many believe that Quetzalcoatl was not a mere human but was actually Jesus Christ. This idea can also be understood by connecting it to another piece of historical evidence.
In the year 1900, Greek divers discovered a metal machine in the sea, which was named Antikythera. This machine was carefully preserved and extensively researched, revealing that it dates back to around the time of Jesus. Further studies showed that this machine was related to astronomy.
When all its parts were cleaned, the complete structure of the machine emerged, featuring rotating gears, metal plates, more than 20 small wheels, and a large wheel. The complexity of the machine suggested that it was not the first of its kind—there must have been others like it at that time.
Professor Solla Price conducted extensive research on this device and suggested that it might have been used to track the moon or other planets. It was confirmed that this machine dates back to 82 BC, but its creator remains unknown.
Here are some other examples of ancient discoveries that continue to intrigue researchers:
- Animal Drawings on Stones: These depict animals like camels and lions, which were not found in America 10,000 years ago. These carvings were discovered at a place called Marcahuasi.
- Mysterious Artifacts in Turkestan: Engineers found hemispherical objects that appear to be some sort of utensils or everyday tools, but astronomers have not yet determined their exact purpose.
- A Lost City in the Nevada Desert: The ruins of an ancient city have been found in Nevada’s desert, where melted metal and sand are still present. The city, now reduced to ruins, seems to have once existed before turning into a barren wasteland. Interestingly, all the remnants appear to have been melted.
- Hadjar el Guble: A massive stone located in southern Lebanon, weighing more than 200,000 pounds. The stone has been precisely carved, but the astonishing fact is that even today, no human can lift it.
- Gold Plates in Ur, Chaldea: Some engravings have been found on gold plates in Ur, Chaldea, depicting gods that resemble humans, shown descending from the sky and returning to it.
These discoveries continue to challenge our understanding of ancient civilizations and their technological capabilities.
In Australia, France, India, Lebanon, and South America, black stones have been found that contain abundant aluminum. Research has also revealed that radioactive tests were conducted on them in the past.
In Russia, astronomers found a piece of a ship with ten spheres connected in a row, standing upright within a frame. This frame was held between two sturdy pillars. Additionally, Russian researchers discovered a copper statue resembling a human figure. The statue depicted a person wearing a suit that ended at the neck, along with a helmet on the head. The suit also included boots and gloves.
A museum in Britain houses a Babylonian tablet that describes the moon, explaining how it changes position. This tablet is thousands of years old.
In Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province in China, rock carvings depicting rockets ascending into the sky were discovered. These carvings were found on a pyramid, which became visible after a minor earthquake.
Can anyone explain these discoveries? If you ask someone, they will tell their own version of the story, but the truth remains uncertain. Or perhaps some people do know but refuse to acknowledge it—for reasons unknown. Such discoveries continue to surface in different parts of the world. And with modern social media, these pieces of information spread rapidly.
We have already uncovered a lot about our past. Now, the real question is—how will humanity move forward?
