A baffling 'flying cylinder' captured on camera above New York.

Reyes raised concerns to authorities regarding a potential safety issue and promptly contacted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In an interview with US-based broadcaster NewsNation, Reyes disclosed her immediate action: "The first step was reaching out to the FAA to report what I observed." Despite her efforts, she received no response from the FAA, leaving her concerns unaddressed.

The footage caught the attention of Thomas Wertman, the state director of the Mutual UFO Network in Ohio, who conducted an analysis for The New York Post. Upon reviewing the video, Wertman determined that the object did not match the characteristics of a news helicopter, drone, or military-operated aircraft. He highlighted the object's altitude, shape, and its proximity to a major commercial flight path, making these conventional explanations highly improbable. Wertman noted that drones are not legally permitted to fly at such altitudes and suggested that if the object had military or law enforcement origins, it would likely avoid heavily trafficked air routes.

Wertman, who has dedicated years to studying potential extraterrestrial phenomena, expressed concern that the unidentified object could pose a significant risk to aviation safety. This incident has puzzled both aviation experts and federal officials, prompting calls for a more comprehensive investigation into the object's nature and its source.

While UFO sightings are not uncommon in the US, the Pentagon has found no evidence of extraterrestrial technology. In a recent report in March of this year, the agency's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) clarified that most sightings were misidentifications of ordinary objects and phenomena. This investigation follows the 2022 announcement that there is no evidence of alien origins behind these sightings.
