PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Every Wednesday on News 13 Midday, a segment titled "Wellness Wednesday" focuses on health and fitness. In this week's episode, personal trainer Traycee Green from Pure Platinum joined host Kelsey Peck to discuss seven foods that aid in recovery after a day of unhealthy eating.
Green highlighted chia seeds, flax seeds, aloe vera, and apples as excellent options. She explained that chia seeds are flavorless, making them easy to incorporate into meals like yogurt or smoothies, while also helping with bloating due to their high fiber and antioxidant content. Flax seeds, rich in omega-3s and fiber, are another easy addition to yogurts or protein shakes.
Aloe vera, Green suggested, can be scooped and blended into shakes for its nutrient-packed benefits. Apples, she added, are not only rich in fiber but also very filling, helping to curb overeating.
