Joe Locke and Kit Connor reveal insights about filming the "sexy" scenes in Heartstopper season 3

Kit Connor and Joe Locke, stars of *Heartstopper*, have shared new behind-the-scenes details about season three. In just under two weeks, fans around the world will finally get to watch the highly anticipated third season of the beloved series.

Based on Alice Oseman’s popular webcomic, the new episodes follow Charlie (Locke) as he tries to tell Nick (Connor) that he loves him, while Nick has something important to share with Charlie as well. The synopsis hints: “As summer ends and the school year begins, the friends will face both joys and challenges.”

As the premiere date approaches, the stars opened up to *GQ* about *Heartstopper*, including the seven-hour filming process for the season’s intimate scenes. Connor explained, “We’ve had a nice, slow progression, both as actors and as people getting to know each other. It started with the kisses in season one and built up. By season three, we knew each other very well, so approaching the more raunchy scenes still felt slightly weird, but easier.”

Despite their close bond making the mature scenes more manageable, there were some funny moments—like the infamous "beard burn." Connor shared, “We shot the sexy scenes for seven hours, and Joe developed a huge scab on his chin.”

Locke added, “It was horrible. We were kissing so much that it wasn’t healing, just getting worse.” Connor humorously teased, “That was fun. Fun to kiss.”

Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long to see it all unfold, with *Heartstopper* season three set to release on October 3.

In a recent *GAY TIMES* cover interview, Locke and Jenny Walser, who plays his on-screen sister Tori, teased scenes they’re most excited for fans to see. Locke mentioned Charlie’s birthday party, while Walser praised performances from Tobie Donovan (Isaac) and Joseph Balderrama (their on-screen dad), adding that each character experiences both light and dark moments this season.
