This film features a screenplay by Mike Gilbert and is directed by Julia Jackman. Set in 2006, it follows 16-year-old George, a passionate musician who feels invisible—until a new student, Max, the son of a famous musical duo, arrives and takes an interest in him. Bonus Track premiered in the UK this past summer and is set to release in the U.S. on October 11. Josh O'Connor, recognized for his roles in God's Own Country and Challengers, contributes to the film both in a small acting role and as a co-creator of the story. His involvement marks a significant moment in LGBTQ+ cinema, having portrayed various complex characters in films that explore themes of love and identity.

In addition to Bonus Track, O'Connor is currently filming The History of Sound alongside Paul Mescal, where they portray lovers documenting the lives and music of their compatriots during World War I. He also has another collaboration with director Luca Guadagnino in the works, titled Separate Rooms, an adaptation of a novel about the romance between an Italian writer and his translator.
